Manager Asian Asthma Project
This position is administratively responsible for the development, coordination, and on-going evaluation of the Asthma Prevention and Management Initiative (APMI) for Asian American children in the Greater Boston area.
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Health Education, Social Work Service or related field. BS in Nursing or other clinical area preferred. Three years in a clinical setting and experience in an education environment. Experience with child health or pediatric chronic illness is desirable. Must be bicultural. Bilingual in English and Chinese (Cantonese) preferred. Demonstrated skill in program design, implementation, and evaluation. Strong interpersonal and community advocacy skills required. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work with staff and community at a variety of levels, i.e. grassroots, leader.
Community Health Worker\Asthma Home Visit Project
The Community Health Worker for the Asthma Home Visiting Project works under the supervision of the Asthma Project Manager and collaborates with other members of the asthma health care team to meet the needs of the patients/families served within the scope of the role.
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree preferable. Completion of a certified nursing assistant training or equivalent (i.e. student affiliations, EMT Course, etc.) Minimum of 2 years prior health care experience, preferably in a community setting. Proficiency in database management, preferable Fluency in English and Cantonese a must, Mandarin an added plus Demonstrated oral and written communication skills Outstanding interpersonal skills of foremost importance to interact with families and represent the team on ongoing basis Interest in community health and outreach.
