The Actors Refuge Repertory Theatre (A.R.R.T.), in collaboration with Asian|Boston Media Group (ABMG), is currently offering Acting Workshops and ensemble opportunities. Acting Workshops will be a comprehensive, exciting and a very affordable way to jump-start an acting career.
CLASS DESCRIPTIONS: Classes are ONGOING and always starting up at selected intervals. Please check with us on the next class start-up dates.
ACTING FOR SELF-CONFIDENCE: This class is specifically designed to help improve self-esteem, and to overcome the fear of meeting people, and practice public speaking. You will learn how to act and react confidently through various techniques, improv exercises, physical warm-ups and scene work.
INTRO TO ACTING: This one-Day Introductory Class will cover basic acting skills for the stage or screen. It will also have a special focus for those interested in beginning scene work. No experience necessary.
3-WEEK BEGINNER I ACTING COURSE: In this class, you will learn valuable techniques and approaches to handle scene work: acting for the stage, on-camera and beat work. Through working with other actors and on the basics, you will learn to create and utilize true moments to bring your work to life. No experience necessary.
6-WEEK BEGINNER II ACTING COURSE: This class will help you to explore further in drama. From developing strong acting techniques and tools, creating memorable moments, character development, scene and monologue work as well as tips for memorable auditions. Prerequisite: Previous acting experience or our 3-WEEK COURSE.

Producing-Artistic Director of Actors Refuge Repertory Theatre, and an instructor of ACTING FOR SELF-CONFIDENCE. Mariko has been acting in both theatre and film (Member of SAG-AFTRA) as well as producing. Her passion is to promote diversity and community development through performing arts. She also writes for Asian Boston Magazine, and has her own column called "Rainbow Bridge."
Accomplished film (SAG- AFTRA) and theater actor, Michael had started his acting career with ARRT. His recent theatre credits include Chinglish (Lyric Stage), Wild Swans (ART), After The Quake (Company One) and You for Me for You (Company One). On camera, he has appeared opposite Ryan Reynolds in Universal's RIPD and Jason Isaacs in Showtime's Brotherhood. Releasing in 2015 will be his co-star role in Netflix's Daredevil and a large role in 20th Century Fox's Unfinished Business.
